Q:

Any guilty pleasures?

A:

I’ve been a vegan for over a year now. And I don’t regret it, after being a vegetarian for 11 months. I feel so much better now that I am on a plant-based diet, not only physically but mentally too. I try to convince others and promote veganism by being a part of a vegan outreach team as a teamleader.
If the question means that I sometimes have non-vegan desires, I have to be honest. I do. (Don’t get me wrong, I’ll alway eat veggie. Not in a million years would I ever eat another animal). What I mean is that I am a sweet tooth. When I see cake or cookies, I can – sometimes – give in. Only when it’s presented to me, like on a birthday party. Everybody has flaws. I don’t believe I’m doing any harm in that. Being vegan doesn’t mean that there’s a strict path everybody has to follow. You are still free to make your own rules. For a vegan potluck, I once bought the wrong cookies (didn’t read the label). Nobody made a fuss. We just enjoyed the cookies.
